At the Quigley I'd been struggling to load the ammo I'd brought. More than half had the bullet seated a touch too far forward. Doug's seating tool for the 1874 Sharps was exactly what I needed and now I used one everytime I'm loading the Sharps. Thanks Doug!!!
I love this tool. I can sit, watching TV and decap my cases. The tool is easy to use, sturdy and gives enough mechanical advantage that my arthritic hands can remove really stubborn primers. The capture chamber keeps all of the spent primers and their associated "trash" contained until you want to dump it...in some place other than your wife's family room. The inserts do an excellent job of aligning the cases for straight, true extraction. I have used it on the following: 45-90, 45-70, .348 Win and 30-30 Win. I love it. Well made, well designed, compact and ready for the range or??? This is one of those tools that once you use it, you are gonna wonder why you didn't try it sooner.
