For cartridges that won't quite chamber all the way, the tool provides the little extra leverage needed.

NOTE:

Sharps tool - position behind the cartridge with the tool stem vertical and PULL back.

Highwall and Hepburn and all scope versions tools - position behind the cartridge with the tool handle angled toward the rear and PUSH forward.

At the Quigley I'd been struggling to load the ammo I'd brought. More than half had the bullet seated a touch too far forward. Doug's seating tool for the 1874 Sharps was exactly what I needed and now I used one everytime I'm loading the Sharps. Thanks Doug!!!
